As a participant in Sample-Studios’ Studios of Sanctuary programme, I feel especially grateful for the mentorship, training, and support that has helped shape my artistic journey. Vyshyvanka Day, FREE public event on 15 May in Triskel Arts Centre! This Ukrainian holiday is devoted to preserving the folk tradition of creating richly embroidered ethnic clothing. Visitors were guided by Viktoria Kondratieva in screen printing custom T-shirts in the Vyshyvanka style, inspired by the iconic embroidered patterns that honour Ukrainian heritage. After that, dive into the world of Petrykivka painting - the beautiful, colourful folk art of Ukraine. This event was offered as part of Studios of Sanctuary, the training and mentorship programme for artists from migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking backgrounds.
